Knot

“Knot” is a short film that was created during the preparations for the “Threads of Palestine” Fashion Show, which took place at the Libyan Embassy, Tokyo in May of 2025.

The show is part of an ongoing effort to fundraise towards current relief efforts in Palestine. Please look forward to a video of the fashion show, coming soon!

This short, artistic piece focuses on the details of the obi, which feature traditional Palestinian Tatreez embroidery.  Each obi is hand-embroidered by refugee women in Palestine, who are financially supported by the project. The film serves as a reminder that we are all connected, despite forces that would seek to separate us.

A message from the filmmaker:

As a former refugee from Bosnia, a fashion lover and supporter of the Palestinian cause, I am immensely proud to use my skills and passion to document this project. Women’s work is overlooked and so valuable. Traditional crafts are so important. Beauty is worth preserving. I am lucky to be an observer.

「ノット」は“Threads of Palestine” (を紡ぎ命をつなぐパレスチナ支援イベント)という2025年5月にリビア大使館で行われたファッションショーの準備期間中に制作されたショートフィルムです。

こちらのファッションショーは、パレスチナへの支援金を集めるために定期的に行われるイベントの一部です。（もうすぐ、イベントの様子を写した映像も公開予定ですので、お楽しみに！）

ショートフィルムでは、帯に繊細に縫われたパレスチナ伝統のタトレーズ刺繍を写します。すべての帯はパレスチにある難民キャンプのパレスチナの女性たちが縫ったものです。映像を通して、どんなに繋がりを裂けようとする力が大きくても、私たちはつながり続けることを伝えます。

監督から：

「元ボスニア難民でファッションも大好きな私が、今回この映像を通してパレスチナ抵抗運動を支援できることを誇りに思います。軽視されがちな女性の労働は、本来はとても価値のあるもの。受け継がれ続ける美しさを秘めた、伝統工芸もとても大事なものであり、そんな現場に立ち会えたことに感謝しています。」
