For the one-year anniversary of Chalchitr, an event series focusing on alternative Indian film, we worked directly with a modern Indian playwriting team to give their debut play, Jhumkewali, a Tokyo premiere.

We worked closely with the Haus of Baus team to help fund the filming and video production and create original Japanese subtitles. We also live-streamed a Q+A session with the playwrights and main actors, which was hosted by Ameya, a local independent film director.

The event included a screening of Ameya’s short film Shapeless, A Jhumkewali screening and Q+A session, topped off with delicious home made Indian food.

The event visuals were created in collaboration with Arzoo Naqvi. As well as the instagram advertising, I also designed a free 8 page zine as a gift for all attendees.
